Dimplex storage heaters

Storage heaters can help to keep you and your home warm. They’re designed to use cheaper, off-peak electricity to heat your home.

Storage heaters use electricity to charge up the material inside them (the core) that stores heat. This usually takes place overnight or when your off-peak electricity tariff runs. The heater then releases heat in a controlled way during the day.

Dimplex has provided a set of 18 videos showing how to operate every function of the Dimplex Quantum storage heaters. The key videos are included below with some useful instructions on how to use your Dimplex Quantum storage heater.

Getting started

Switch on both wall switches to turn the heater on. It’s best to keep these switches on. It doesn’t mean the heater is ‘on’, but it will keep its smart functions running.

Keep a 30cm (one foot) gap in front of your heater to minimise fire risks.

The controls are on the top right of the heater underneath a flap. From left to right, the controls are:

  • A screen
  • Three buttons: Menu, Back, and Advance
  • A dial to change the settings. This can be rotated and pressed.

Setting the room temperature

Setting the date and time

It's essential to set the time and date on your heater. This will allow it to charge using off-peak electricity. The times will automatically update for daylight saving time and British Summer Time.

Selecting ‘Home all day’

The ‘Home all day’ setting will give you 13 hours of heat, spread through the day from 8am to 9pm.

Selecting ‘Out all day’

Are you going out? This setting will give you 7.5 hours of heat at the beginning and end of the day.

Setting ‘Holiday mode’

If you’re going to be away from home for a while, you can set a lower temperature for the time you’re away.

Top tip: if you set Holiday mode to end the day before you get back, your home will be nice and warm when you get home.

Boost heater

If you need a bit of extra heat, your heater has a small heating element that is useful when the core is empty (you’ve used up all the stored heat).
