Most of our general needs waiting lists are closed

Thank you for expressing an interest in applying for a home with Habinteg.

The waiting lists for all wheelchair accessible homes for wheelchair users and their families are open for applications from households that need these properties.

The waiting lists for our general needs homes are closed in some areas due to high demand, however on occasion we will open up the waiting list in some areas for applications. This might only be for a limited period and only in certain areas.  Please have a look at the properties listed on our available now page you are able to complete an application to apply for these properties even if the area is currently closed.

PLEASE NOTE: The following general needs waiting lists are now open for direct applications: Hemlington, (Middlesbrough), Stockton and Yarm, Wakefield (Ossett), and Hull.

Please use our property search to check that we have properties located in your area of choice and that the property meets your needs, before completing an application.  The property search provides a full list for all the properties and areas that we manage.  Please note this property search list is for information purposes and the properties are not currently available.

We allocate properties from our direct list and once your  application is processed you will be added to our housing waiting list and considered for any future properties.  We would also encourage you to apply to the relevant Local Authorities housing lists (if you are eligible) as we have service level agreements in place for a percentage of our properties to be allocated from their lists.

If you're looking for a general needs home in an area were our list is closed, please contact your local council’s housing department who now advertise our available properties. We have a number of general needs housing properties, including homes for people aged over 55, some of which are level access homes.

If you’re looking to move outside of your area, you can also find immediately available social housing, wheelchair accessible, retirement properties and some Private Rented Sector homes via Homefinder UK.

The national mobility scheme offers case management services that help homeless households and social housing applicants of member organisations find social housing across the UK.

We also occasionally advertise vacancies on our social media channels, so be sure to keep an eye on our Twitter page and our Instagram page.
