Habinteg lead delegation to meet with Housing Minister to discuss lack of accessible homes

Today, Habinteg tenant and disability campaigner, Kerry Thompson, met with Housing Minister, Rt. Hon Chris Pincher MP, to discuss the lack of accessible housing in the UK. The meeting was also attended by Habinteg’s CEO, Sheron Carter, its Director of Strategy and External Affairs, Nic Bungay and Anna Dixon, CEO of Centre for Ageing Better representing the Housing Made for Everyone (HoME) coalition. The meeting was convened by Liz Twist MP, who was also in attendance.

Carers Week is here, a time to show special appreciation to all of the dedicated carers across the country and the amazing work they do. During this pandemic, carers have been on the frontline, supporting vulnerable people and ensuring they’re well looked after. For a lot of our tenants, care is essential and an integral part of everyday life. New Pathways programme to support young disabled Londoners into careers in inclusive design

Habinteg’s training and consultancy team, The Centre for Accessible Environments (CAE) has launched its new, ground-breaking Pathways programme to transform the lives of young disabled Londoners. Following a £322,000 grant from City Bridge Trust, CAE will train young people on inclusive design and the accessibility of buildings and services.
