Progress on our Leeds developments

Our Development team is having a busy year working on a number of new Habinteg homes across England in keeping with our goal to develop more accessible homes over the next few years.

Kentmere Avenue, Leeds

Our Kentmere Avenue development of three two-bedroom wheelchair-accessible bungalows and six two-bedroom accessible and adaptable houses is due for completion in November 2020.

Designed by Acanthus WSM Architects, the development demonstrates our commitment to accessible, easily adaptable, inclusively designed, affordable new homes and is in line with Habinteg’s long established principle of building:

  • 75% of our homes to be accessible and adaptable and
  • 25% of our homes to be fully wheelchair accessible.

Each of the scheme’s wheelchair housing designs will enable wheelchair users to independently access and use all rooms and facilities.

Bespoke project

We’ve also just completed a small programme of 'bespoke' homes on three small sites in Leeds.

These six family-sized wheelchair accessible houses and bungalows have been built in partnership with Leeds City Council to meet the needs of families who’ve been on the housing waiting list in the city for some time.

Look out for more news on this project in the coming months.
