A guide to the Disability Equality Duty and Disability Discrimination Act 2005 for the social housing sector

Habinteg were commissioned by the Disability Rights Commission to write the guidance for the social housing sector on the Disability Equality Duty and Part 3 of the Disability Discrimination Act, published in 2006.

The Disability Equality Duty affects all public bodies, from local councils to government departments, from universities to hospitals. The law says they must now actively promote disability equality. The guidance on social housing is one of several guidance documents produced by the DRC on service areas in 2006.
