Get involved & make a difference on your scheme

At Habinteg, we‘re keen for tenants get involved in the work we do as it plays a key role in shaping and improving the services we provide for you.

There are several ways that you get involved in our work and really help to make a difference.

Local Tenant Representatives

As a Tenant Representative, you become an important link between Habinteg and all tenants on your scheme. You’ll help to influence the day-to-day decisions and policies that impact you and all tenants.

But don’t worry if you feel you don’t have the skills to become a Tenant Representative. We’ll help you with full training and give you all the support you need, so come and join us.

Do you have good attention to detail?

The Scrutiny Panel is a group of tenants that get down into the detail to scrutinise how Habinteg teams deliver their work.

They carry out research, talk to staff, consult with other tenants, examine documents and report their findings to the Joint Strategy & Impact Group.

If you like looking at the finer details, this is the group for you. Here’s what Pam Shepherdson had to say about it:

“Being part of the Scrutiny panel, looking into Habinteg’s repairs system has allowed me to have an insight not only into the repair system but Habinteg as a whole. And I now have a better understanding of who does what. Getting involved as a tenant certainly has lots of advantages”.

Task & Finish Groups

Occasionally, we may need tenants to review an area of our service or input to a project at short notice, and we’ll invite you to take part in a Task and Finish group.

There’s no specific time commitment for these activities, as it really depends on what we need you to look at.

You can take part in as many or as few task and finish projects as you like. And the work you do will be fully supported by our Customer Engagement Team.

Something for everyone

Whether you can spare a few hours a month or you have more time to give, there are a range of other tenant involvement activities, groups and panels that you can get involved with.

If you’re interested in becoming a Tenant Representative or would like to join any of the tenant groups or panels, please email our Customer Engagement team, Ann Johal and Tracy Jagger, at customerengagement@habinteg.org.uk.

Please also email Ann and Tracy if you’re happy to receive occasional tenant surveys and questionnaires by email. The questionnaires are of varying lengths about different areas of our service, and you can choose which ones you’d like to complete.

We look forward to having you on board.
