Habinteg has hired social housing consultancy Impart Links to complete the condition surveys of all our homes.
These periodic surveys are important because they help us plan for future improvements by identifying the work needed in each home.
Planned investment
Improving our homes is a top priority for Habinteg.
From April 2023 to March 2024, we invested £6.3 million in replacing key elements of our homes, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and windows.
In the 2024/25 financial year, we have already spent another £6.07 million on similar upgrades. This ongoing investment ensures your home stays in good condition and remains a safe place to live.
Sixty percent of Habinteg’s properties have already had a condition survey and we have secured Impart Links to complete the remaining forty percent by July 2025 so that we have a full picture with which to plan our future investment.
Russell Grainge, Habinteg’s Director of Assets, said: "We changed our survey company as we weren’t seeing the progress we’d hoped for with the surveys.
“We know that home improvements are incredibly important for our tenants, and that’s why we’re focused on getting the remaining surveys finished as promptly as possible."
Next steps
We’re currently reviewing the results of the surveys conducted so far to plan for the coming financial year (April 2025 to March 2026). We expect to finish this process by mid-March and once we have our plan, we’ll share dates for when we plan to renew key parts of your home, such as the kitchen, bathroom, windows, and doors.
Russell added: “We know we’ve promised work that has not yet been completed, and we’re sorry for the delay and uncertainty that this has caused to some tenants. We’re taking these past commitments into account when planning our work for 2025 and will focus on the areas of highest need first.
“Our aim is to make sure every tenant has a well-maintained and safe home.”
