Hundreds of Habinteg tenants celebrated the crowning of King Charles III with scheme parties across the country last weekend.
Bunting, Union Jacks and tables of cakes, quiches and sandwiches could be seen from Stockton to Bradford during what was a warm, but wet three days.
People from the Habinteg community were joined by friends and family, young and old, to celebrate the coronation of the King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
With the last coronation taking place nearly 70 years ago, for many, it was their first time witnessing such a historic event.
On bank holiday Monday, Habinteg tenants from our Stockton scheme were joined by their family and friends, to enjoy a scrumptious buffet of bought and home-baked goodies.
The party took place in the scheme’s community centre and was attended by around 40 people. Everyone commented on how lovely it was to have the community back together again, and to be able to have events again after the pandemic.
Many thanks to Habinteg Neighbourhood Manager for Stockton, Donna Rowe for sharing these photos.
Habinteg tenants, their family and friends from the wider community were determined not to let the rainy weather of Coronation Day dampen their celebrations.
They threw wet sponges, played raffles and tombola, and enjoyed cakes and other baked delights. They also hired a caterer who put on a fantastic buffet for them.
A big thanks to Interim Neighbourhood Manager Support Beverley Marshall for sending the photos below through. And, a special shout out to Bradford Council Carer, Sue Benecke, who works at Eden Gardens, for her help in making the event a success.
Habinteg tenants at our Park Road scheme in Hull scheme put their community room to good use on bank holiday Monday.
Their coronation party was attended by 40 people. Tenant Rep Mandy and other tenants put on a fabuolous buffet of delicious goodies, all funded by the Tenant Led Improvement Budget.
Many thanks to Neighbourhood Co-ordinator, Scott Rumblow, for sharing the below photos.
