What it means to be an involved tenant at Habinteg and why it matters

Becoming more involved with Habinteg tenant means having a say in the services we provide in your community.

Your feedback helps shape the way we do things, from improving repair services to planning events and setting policies that benefits all Habinteg tenants.

By working with us, you can help improve your neighbourhood and scheme, and make sure that tenant voices are heard.

Why get involved?

If you think there’s something about our services that could be better or an issue in your community that needs attention, getting involved is a great way to make a difference.

By sharing your feedback and ideas, you can help shape the decisions that affect your home and scheme.

Joining one of our groups or panels is also a great way to meet other tenants and strengthen your community.

Some roles offer training that can develop your skills and boost your CV, so there’s plenty of development benefits too.

Every bit of input matters, whether it’s attending a meeting or suggesting improvements.

Ways to get involved

There are plenty of ways to get involved, no matter how much time you have. It could involve filling out a quick survey or it could be joining a meeting to share your thoughts.

If you're interested in a more active role, you can join a panel or group focused on improving specific services in your community.

Some of ways in which you could be more active include joining our:

  • Tenant Listening Events – to share your thoughts in person and discuss local issues.
  • Scrutiny Panel – to help review our services and suggest improvements.
  • Local Tenant Representatives – to speak up for your community and work with us to make positive changes.
  • Editorial Panel – to help shape newsletters, social media, and other tenant communications.
  • Staff Interview Panel – to take part in selecting key staff members.
  • Task and Finish Groups – to work on short-term projects to improve policies or services.

No matter how much time you can spare, there’s a way to get involved that suits you.

The impact

Tenant feedback has led to improved repairs services, better communication from landlords, and more community events.

Involved tenants also help create a better sense of community. By working together, tenants can build relationships, organise activities, and make their schemes better places to live.

Support and expenses

We want to make it easy for tenants to take part. We can help cover travel costs, provide access to sign language interpreters or language support, and even loan laptops for virtual meetings.

If you don’t have internet access, you can also join discussions by phone.
