Snow and ice

With freezing temperatures, snow, and ice expected during winter, it’s important to stay safe and warm. We’ve put together some simple, practical tips to help you through the cold snap.

  1. Keep warm: Prioritise heating your home, especially if you're vulnerable or have respiratory conditions. Using your heating not only helps you stay comfortable but also prevents pipes from freezing and bursting.

  2. Stock up: If you're concerned about getting out in freezing conditions, consider stocking up on essentials such as groceries and medication to ensure you have everything you need during the cold months.

  3. Report heating issues: If your heating or boiler breaks down, contact us immediately. Heating breakdowns during winter are treated as emergencies, and we'll arrange repairs or alternative heating if necessary.

  4. Icy conditions: Be cautious when going outside in icy conditions. If you live in a communal area, our landscaping teams will manage gritting. In areas without landscaping services, please use the grit provided if safe to do so.

  5. Carer access: If you rely on carers and are concerned about road conditions, reach out to them directly to confirm their arrangements and ensure they can safely visit you.
