Local Tenant Representative
Our Local Tenant Representative role is for anyone who wants to work with their local community. You’ll represent tenants within your scheme or community, providing the most important link between tenants and Habinteg.
Local Tenant Representatives inform, influence, and scrutinise the day-to-day business decisions and policies that affect tenants. They advocate for the views of tenants in their community and represent the interests of tenants as a whole, rather than advocating for individual tenants.
They’ll attend Tenant Listening Events to share their views.

Local neighbourhood events with tenants
In 2023/24, we held 83 local events with tenants across the country. This included annual scheme meetings, coffee mornings, social events and drop-in sessions.
Priorities identified from these meetings are being implemented and include:
- The installation of new CCTV to combat anti-social behaviour
- Improvement to grounds maintenance contracts
- Sharing clearer information on service charges
- Undertaking tree works
- Ensuring cyclical works takes place such as gutter clearance.
- Tenant meetings and events take place at all schemes, apart from areas with dispersed homes. Here, local staff will most likely engage by phone or email.
